In this position at ABB Corporate Research you will have possibility to work in an international environment surrounded by top researchers from different disciplines. You work mainly in close collaboration with our ABB Digital Operation team. We work with our customers and partners on digital development helping them in their digital transformation journey. Based on our global platform ABB AbilityTM, combining new technology and new tools with our extensive domain and process know-how, we build the digital solutions of the future. Now we are looking for a data analyst / algorithm developer, to lead our development with our customers and explore the Swedish market. Location is in Västerås.
As part of Corporate Research, you will find unique development opportunities. Tasks:
As a data analyst / algorithm developer at ABB Corporate Research you will have on one hand possibility to contribute to the continuing competitiveness of ABB and on the other hand being a part of the ABB Digital Operation team, helping our customers in their digital transformation, from conceptualization to execution and delivery of digital services and solutions. You will be among the other the hub of developing new services and products.
Your daily life will include:
• Development of "Proof of Concepts" with cross-functional teams.
• Development of digital solutions in dialogue with client / customer and project manager.
• Be a part of a team including architecture, design and development of new digital solutions.
o Define digital strategies and objectives based on business benefits and technical functionality in cooperation with our customer.
Requirements:
We are looking for a data analyst / algorithm developer with "hands on" experience from different platform and applications. The role requires an ability to understand a variety of industrial application, platforms and end-to-end data exploitation techniques (e.g. signal processing, signature detection, automatic tracking, pattern recognition). Activities involve systems analysis, data analysis, physics-based modeling, while working as a member of a technical team. The work will involve new concept and algorithm development utilzing data-driven analysis as well-as physics-based modeling.
You hold a Masters' degree in in Physics, Automatic Control Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with a strong background in physical sciences. You are a user of MATLAB and have strong programming experience in Python, R, or C++. Experience from open source frameworks such as TensorFolw, Caffe, MS Azure etc. would be advantageous.
Your personal skills are of crucial importance in this role. You are an independent and driven, innovative and curious team player with high integrity. You are a person with a strong interest and believe in technology. You are clear in communication. Your Proficiency in verbal and written English is a requirement, whereas knowledge in Swedish and German will be counted to your advantage.
