Foodjob Nordic is looking for a strong technologist to join the AAK Dairy pilot team based in Karlshamn, Sweden. This is a unique opportunity to work both analytically and hands-on with physical chemistry and sensory science related to especially dairy products but also a wider range of applications.

The position
The pilot plant for dairy products is responsible for three laboratories and as Dairy & Food Technologist your work will be related to these:
• In the dairy application lab the team works with whipping cream, ice cream, yoghurt, cheese, spread and margarine in pilot scale. You will take part in the production of various products and in the evaluation of the different end products.
• In the physical chemistry laboratory the team study basic fundamental properties such as crystal forms, rheological properties, melting and crystallization behavior of oils and fats as well as customer products. You will be responsible for performing studies on fat and fat containing products with instruments such as X-Ray, rheological studies, DSC, texture analysis, optical microscope etc.
• In the sensory lab the team scientifically evaluate different attributes in the end products by using a trained panel. You will be responsible for experimental design, evaluation and results, training and to maintain the quality of our different taste panels and all practical work around the taste sessions. You will work with quantitative descriptive analysis - a statistical approach to sensory science, and you will work on and evaluate chocolate, ice cream, whipping cream, margarine and butter blends etc.
• In your daily work you will be interacting with colleagues in different customer projects and studies. You will also give support to AAK Academy seminars in sensory science and be part of customers visiting Karlshamn.
Qualifications and skills
You have a degree at minimum bachelor level in chemistry, food science or similar and you have some years experience from a similar position or from other food related areas working in laboratory or with product development.

Your approach to perform highly analytical work is structured and methodical, and you know your way around a laboratory. Besides this you are familiar working with statistics.

As a person you are a team player who is motivated and open to growth and challenges. You are detail oriented, focus on results and strive to deliver a high level service and create the best possible solutions.
