The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation is looking for a project assistant to join the team in Uppsala.

The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation's ambition is to gradually continue growing as an organisation. Depending on developments in the current and planned activities, there will be expansions in both programmatic and administrative work during the current strategic period (2018-20).
Due to increasing activities at the Foundation, there is a need for additional administrative support within programmatic work.

Responsibilities and Tasks
• Support planning, implementation and follow-up for projects, including in-house and external events (i.e. seminars, workshops, lectures) through for example drafting invitations, making travel arrangements and compiling and disseminating materials.
• Contribute to production of written materials (articles, policy papers, reports) related to programmes and projects.
• Follow ongoing research and events on issues and themes related to the Foundation's work programmes and report back to Programme Director(s) and Managers.
• Participate in team-work on developing strategies, policies and budgets, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
• Additional tasks in support of work programmes as assigned by the Programme Director(s).

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. international relations, political science, global studies). A Master's degree is preferred but not required. o Professional experience in administration and programme support within e.g. global issues, UN processes or development cooperation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Swedish is desired. o Excellent IT competence in MS Office is required. o Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Detail-oriented and ability to take initiative to develop activities and programmatic work.

Reporting and Relations:
• The Project Assistant will report to the Programme Director(s).
• Internal: Support to staff engaged in programmatic work. Collaboration takes place mostly within project teams, but the Project Assistant will also work closely with communications teams and administrative staff.
• External: Collaboration with partners as relevant to programmatic work.

Terms of employment
• Temporary 2-year position with 6 months probation.
