The Global Customs Department is responsible for Global Governance and process development for all of Volvo Car Group globally in the field of Customs. We are now establishing a new department within Global Customs (EMEA Customs Operations). The department will handle the HS classification of our production and service parts in cooperation with our regional customs teams in Shanghai, China, and in Charleston, South Carolina and will be responsible for Inward and Outward Processing as well as End-Use reporting, Origin Calculation. There will be a close contact with our R&D department and product owners to ensure proper knowledge.
As a Customs Manager at the Special Procedures department your will have a unique opportunity to take charge of a customs department with exciting challenges in the development phase. You will also have a significant influence on building the team and establishing procedures for the group's future performance. The Customs Manager will be responsible for setting up the new department, establishing new work processes and for recruiting the required personnel.
Main responsibilities
* Determine and establish work processes and procedures
* Set department structure and hiring personnel
* Establish work schedules and methodologies, planning and target setting
* Maintenance of the processes through continuously improvements and process development towards efficiency and quality
* Line Manager responsibility for the department, reporting to the Senior Manager EMEA Customs Operations
Required qualifications
* Leadership experience
* Minimum 5 years of experience in an in-house customs declaration functions or equivalent
* Experience in working on international customs assignments or projects
* Documented quality approach, Continuous improvement, SixSigma or similar
* Project management experience is meritorious
Personal qualities
* Outstanding leadership skills
* Ambition to perform and improve
* Good communication and inter-cultural skills
