Chassis Systems & Control is a department within Active Safety and Chassis. The department develops Wheel Suspensions, Brake systems & Pedals, Steering systems and Wheels & Tyres to all Volvo car lines based on business and customer demands.
Brake & Vehicle Dynamics Functions is a group within the Brake System & Control section which is responsible for the complete brake system (mechanics, electronics and functions). The responsibility of the group is to develop requirements for customer functions and implement brake and vehicle dynamics functions in the vehicles. Some of the functions that we are responsible for are DSTC (Dynamic stability traction control), ABS (Antilocking Brake System) and CTC (Corner Traction Control). We also develop in-house software for specific functions. The group consists of 22 dedicated people.
The customer function owner develops requirements for brake and vehicle dynamics customer functions in Volvo Cars different vehicle projects. The Function owner works with other areas such as HMI, active safety functions, testing and supplier in order to develop the best functions for our customers. The challange in this role is to be innovative in order to create a sustainable strategy within the area.
Main responsibilities:
Deliver functional requirements according to plan.
Ensure that the final function is according to specification.
Ensure that the function follows laws and regulations.
Create the strategy for the function.
Follow ISO26262 activities.
Required qualifications are:
B.Sc, M.Sc or equivalent competence.
3-5 years experience within relevant area (control systems, vehicle dynamics, powertrain, brake, signal processing or equivalent).
Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing.
Other qualifiers are personal characteristics such as:
