hela Sverige The mission of the custom master data specialist is to secure that customs Master Data used by Volvo are compliant and consistent. Improve data quality. Measure and audit internal operations and processes where master data is used. Address deviations, initiate development if needed. Measure relevant service providers' performance regarding Master Data.
Key responsibilities/Accountabilities
HS codes, Proof of Origin
Ensure that Classifications & Proof of Origin solicitations are done, compliantly & consistently, according to defined processes and in time as needed by operational or other function.
• Maintain and review Classification and Proof of Origin Databases
• Update supplier information in relevant Master Data systems
Compliance Control & Data Quality
• Work closely with other departments/TD/BA and customs brokers and service providers to ensure compliance through audits and measures
• Identify Compliance Risks & Optimization opportunities within responsibility area
• Secure an compliant level of Master Data Quality & Compliance Control by performing:
• Measures and analyzes on completion levels/ quality of Master Data performed internally or by service providers
• Internal control regarding Master Data
• Secure proof of Origin
• Secure HTS on FTA certificate matches HTS in database
• Secure classification handling
• Preparation and support of specific tasks for MD
• MD support to external Customs brokers in daily operations in cooperation with Customs Compliance
• Investigate and address Root Causes to Deviations e.g. missing part master info, part not in requests, HS deviations
• Handle escalations, e.g. after reminders in solicitation process
• Identify need for Additional codes and requirements linked to HS code needed for customs clearance and licenses, e g dual use codes
Continuously develop expertize and competence regarding local, regional, and global
Customs Compliance legislations and apply those to the Volvo business.
Development
• Analyze classification change opportunities; e.g. Decide when BTI or binding ruling is beneficial and coordinate obtaining of ruling and securing usage locally and regionally with Customs Compliance
• Update solicitation documents when needed, according to Volvo org structure and FTA requirements (Add New FTA countries in Proof of Origin documents)
• Cooperate closely with Customs Developers, Customs Compliance Managers and Export Control Managers to identify needs and opportunities to develop or implement the Master Data processes within the regions
• Implement processes and necessary routines within responsibility area according to plan
Competence Centre/ Support
• Actively support overall company programs and policies within responsible area
• Support and educate within the Master Data area
• Support for solicitation at Internal suppliers
• Support Origin determination and calculation
C4V (Customs for Volvo) key user
• Support, training , development, Change request specifications
• System tests (new releases) with assistance of service provider
• User guides and instructions up-to date
• Creating and signing Volvo certificates (as applicable according to local organization)
• Information and support to LD (new footprint, sourcing or P-projects etc)
• Support any regional/local responsibilities, not shared globally, and not reflected in this functional description
