As CTO of Screen9 you will be part of the management team and work closely with the CEO to lead the company, both in its day to day operations and also in its longer term strategic management. You will be responsible for the quality and the output of the technology team which includes development, operations, delivery and support. In addition, you will also be responsible for high level technology choices and sourcing from suppliers. You will line-manage the Swedish team which today consists of 8 people and you will also be responsible for recruitments and HR related items for this team.
Screen9's development organisation is divided into two parts, one development office in Stockholm, Sweden and one in Cracow, Poland. Most of the backend work is developed in Sweden and most of the frontend work is done in Cracow. You will not be directly managing the Cracow office but you will be setting the requirements for its delivery and work closely with the Cracow site manager.
The Screen9 tech team consists of motivated and talented developers, one systems administrator and a product manager. The CTO role includes acting as project manager for the Swedish team. Together with the Cracow site manager you make sure that the development road map and other planned work is carried out to satisfy requirements. Planning the development work is done in collaboration with the product manager.
Quality and output of the team is managed both via prioritizing necessary development work and also by defining and developing methodologies and processes to ensure a professional delivery. We currently use agile methodologies with inspiration from SCRUM in our development work.
As CTO you will represent the company's technology externally which means that you will be meeting with customers and other important business partners.

Candidate Profile
You are a natural leader and a self-starter. You constantly strive for excellence and improvement. You can easily see the big picture and prioritizing your own time, trading off short-term benefits vs long-term important work, comes naturally to you. Communicating with developers is easy for you since you have the technical knowledge to earn their trust yet you equally well communicate with CEO, customers or sales on their level.
We think that you have an academic background in computer science or equivalent and have some years of experience from working as a developer. You have had previous leadership roles, not necessarily as CTO but similar. You probably have experience with agile methodologies and have been involved with developing such to suit previous organisations. In your working career you have always had a clear business understanding and even though you may have spent most of your time with technical work, you appreciate the importance of customers and developing the business.
