About the role
We are looking for a CTO for our Fingerprint Technology Company who will be pivotal in the long term technology development of the company. The role, as part of the management team, will report to the President of the company and be based in any of our offices in Gothenburg or Copenhagen.
Your main responsibilities in the role as CTO will be to lead the technology scouting when it comes to strategy, analysis and project management. Early technology studies will be an important part and further to contribute to the development of new IP portfolio as well as maintaining the current. As the CTO you will contribute to shape the company's technology strategy.
Regular international business trips will be a natural and needed part of the role once possible.
Key responsibilities
• Identifying new technologies that can contribute to or compete with company offerings
• Critically evaluate ideas presented by others, put them in a larger context, and present strategy for going forward
• Set-up strategic projects and start external collaborations as necessary in order to define how it can be productified and commercially viable
• Drive projects on a development scale until they are mature enough to hand over as product projects to R&D project managers
• Lead team and cross-functional teams of engineers and external partners to develop and build prototypes and demonstrators of new technologies
• Understand patent landscape around relevant technologies and contribute with own patent ideas and strategies to secure the company's position
• Provide specialist expertise within own area as needed within all CTO driven project and in some cases in R&D projects, and in M&A and technology assessments
• Form and maintain relationships with external partners in a professional way
• Manager responsibility driving performance and engagement in own team

Required Competencies
• Specialist (PhD or similar) competence in micro electronics
• Strong experience in project management and execution
• Good understanding of smart phones production and supply chain; previous experience from semiconductor industry is a plus
• Ability to handle complex and multi-disciplinary technical challenges
• Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively and efficiently with stakeholders within the company as well as customers and suppliers
• Understanding of how IP can be leveraged to provide a technology and business advantage.
