Your role and responsibilities
You will join as the head of solution architecture within the newly formed Client Solutions group, within Marketplace Technology. In this highly collaborative role, you will lead the efforts to define the solution architecture for our largest multi-product programmes that often span Trading, Market Risk, Clearing, Settlement through to Custody and other critical functions.
In this multi-disciplinary role, you will understand the needs of our clients and propose solutions that meet these needs. You will be the authority on Solution Architecture during both Design Studies and also work with teams on ongoing Programmes that require end-to-end architectural guidance.
You will partner with Product Owners, BAs, Senior Technical Architects and Development leads to propose solutions that meet clients complex needs whilst ensuring optimal use of software assets and justify development investment. You will be overall responsible for detailing the end-to-end solution architecture including integration points. You will take into account key non-functional requirements and ensure that t he design follows InfoSec Policies, IT Standards and standard methodology.
You will provide guidance to PMs and Product Owners on how to structure the deliverables into a project backlog for meaningful Agile delivery. You will play a key role in communicating end-to-end system requirements to software designers and developers; explain solution structure to them and provide architectural guidance throughout the build phase.
Whilst this senior role initially does not have formal line management responsibility from the outset, it is likely to be a growth area that will require some line management of additional architects in the future.
You will work very closely with the other customer delivery teams (System Architects, Development teams, and BAs) and partner with Project Managers to make sure that the teams work together in an optimal way.
This role comes with incredible growth potential and high visibility to our largest clients, in addition to Nasdaq senior management team.
We expect you to have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Minimum 8 years of demonstratable experience related to technology solutions and/or an architecture role
Hands-on experience in working with various aspects of IT Operations
Knowledge of strategic IT solutions
Knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems
Experience in operating systems and databases
Be a multi-skilled, solution-oriented person with a positive can-do attitude.
Be capable of working cross-functionally and internationally in a constantly evolving environment. In our work things can change fast, so you must show flexibility and resilience in the face of changes in priorities.
Have excellent leadership, social, communication and organizational skills as you will build global relationships colleagues and customers across geographies, time zones and cultures.
Have experience in the agile ways of working.
Stay up to date on market trends and industry best practices.
Be a motivated team player who proactively shares experiences and knowledge towards the team's goals.
Be fluent in English.
It would be great if you
Have experience working in the financial industry - particularly in the Trading, Clearing or Market Risk & Pricing domains.
Have experience working with key financial messaging standards e.g. FIX, FIXML, SWIFT, ISO 20022 etc.
Familiarity with programming languages.
Experience in cloud computing and cloud Technologies.
Have experience working with SaaS products.
Have experience working with products that are regulated.
You will report to the Head of the Client Solutions Group and have both internal and external stakeholders including large financial market operators around the globe. Since you will work together with teams in other locations some travelling will be required.
