Scania Credit AB provides financial and insurance solutions to customers, dealers, and distributors in 2 main regions: Middle East and West Africa. In addition to those Scania Credit AB is running a Distributor Financing and Factoring solution for non-captive distributors in different parts of the world.
The Head Office and Market Support Centre are based in Södertälje, supporting the local markets with governance, management, strategic development, credit risk function, contract administration, and systems. Currently, we are in total of 50 employees, whereof 35 in Södertälje, managing a financed portfolio of about 190 MEUR of assets.
This position is hybrid, which means that we are working approximately 50% from home.
As a Credit Underwriter, you will be part of the Credit Risk department in Södertälje. The Credit Risk department consists of 5 employees working with credit underwriting, collection control, AML, and continuous development of processes and systems in cooperation with other functions within the company.
In your role, you will work in close cooperation with the Credit Risk Team and will be reporting to the Credit Risk Manager.
Main responsibilities
Your main responsibility is to work in the daily credit underwriting process, reviewing credit applications for new and existing customers.
The role will include the following tasks:
• Perform an assessment of the cases submitted for the credit decision
• Investigate, discuss, and make recommendations on securities and collaterals
• Check, discuss the best structure, and present the final form for credit decisions
• Guarantee compliance with Credit Policy and other active steering documentation
• Control compliance with AML requirements
• Make credit decisions in accordance with SCA Credit mandates together with recommendations for all deals above their own mandate level to the Credit Risk Manager and MD
• Support other departments in Credit Risk related topics
• Back-testing of credit decisions
• Active participation in Credit Risk related projects and performing activities to ensure that the project continues according to the plan

If you are:
• Structured and analytical
• Eager and able to work in a multicultural environment
• Fluent in written and spoken English
and you have:
• 3 years or more in underwriting, or 5 years of local market experience working with credit assessment and credit decisions
• Flexibility and professional attitude
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• University degree preferably in business or economics
