Crash Analysis Engineer

The Safety Analysis section is part of Volvo Car Group Safety Centre which drives the development of the Volvo Car Group core value - Safety. Within the center there are functions for both Strategic Safety Development and Requirements, Traffic accident research and Safety Analysis. The Safety Analysis section is responsible for the evaluation of crash performance in our current and future cars. The development is performed in close collaboration with our design departments and external suppliers in a dynamic and international environment. The section consists of three analysis groups: Side impact and pedestrian, Frontal crash and Rear crash and Liaison testing. The vacancy for the Crash Analysis Engineer is at the Rear Crash and Liaison testing group. The group performs physical testing for both internal Volvo projects as well as for external customers.

As a Crash Analysis Engineer you will perform and analyse physical crash tests on component, system and complete vehicle level. You will be responsible for the test setup based on the customer requests, analyse the test results and communicate your findings back to the customer. You will work in close cooperation with test execution team, safety CAE engineers and the different engineering departments.

Main responsibilities

• Responsible for specification of physical crash tests according to customer request
• Responsible for analysis of the test results
• Communication of results and recommendations
• Participate in cross-functional teams within Safety area
• Development of test methods and guidelines

Required qualifications

• B.Sc. degree within mechanical engineering or equal work experience
• Experience from physical testing, preferably within the Safety area
• Experience from data analysis
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Fluent in Swedish is meritorious
