The section Boosting & Exhaust Systems is part of Power Propulsion Systems department within Vehicle Propulsion in Product&Quality. We are in total 70 employees working in different roles. The section is responsible for the development and application of Boosting & Exhaust systems hardware for all Volvo Cars vehicles. It consists of four development groups: Boosting Systems, Exhaust Aftertreatment Diesel, Exhaust Aftertreatment Gasoline and Exhaust Systems.
The group Boosting Systems is responsible for the development of Exhaust Manifold & Turbochargers, Mechanical compressors, E-chargers and the Power pulse system. We are currently a group of people divided into the following roles: System responsible engineer, application specific Component owners and supportive roles such as Group design leader and Cost&Quality task leader.
We are now looking for a colleague in our group Boosting Systems, to take on the position as Cost & Quality Task Leader.
At Engine Engineering we are focusing on development within our roles, meaning that there is a clearly defined plan for personal development.
Main responsibilities
* Your responsibilities will include tasks in both, cost and quality areas:
* Manage the activities within the section Boosting & Exhaust systems
* Take on the role as a Project lead
* Support cost reduction and quality items
* Lead and plan Tear down events on department level
* Lead feasibility studies of the cost reduction ideas
* Anchor the cost reduction ideas to all stakeholders including management
* Regularly report out status and forecast to the line and project management
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. within mechanics, physics or other relevant field with relevant work experiences
* Technical interest and experiences within automotive business
* Documented experience in Catia V5 and Team Center
* Documented experience within the field of boosting and exhaust systems is highly meritorious
* Previous working experience with Volvo Cars are appreciated
* Fluency in English, spoken and written
* Driving license "B"

We are looking for a person with positive attitude and focus on the end customer. Our new employee should be engaged and loyal, with strong team attitude and sense to be supportive towards colleagues. Communication skills are mandatory, hence daily collaboration with internal and external suppliers. Last, but not least, you need to be well organized and have a structured approach towards work.
