Cost Management is now looking for a Cost Engineer that understands and wants to challenge our costs on components.
Who are we?
We are a team with different nationalities, ages, talents, and ideas. Our team has extensive experience and know-how in materials, production processes, calculations for products, production tools, and development costs. We work closely with Purchasing, R&D, and suppliers to try to find the right technology for the right price.
What you will do? You will support Purchasing with high-quality cost calculations to find cost-saving potentials and negotiation arguments in order to optimize the price levels, both from a greenfield and supplier-specific perspective. Moreover have an active role in the negotiations and supplier selection process together with the purchaser.
Who are you?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energized person with relevant work experience of 2-5 years. Preferably with a background in the Automotive industry as a Cost Engineer, Purchaser, Process planning engineer, or Quality Engineer.
You have a degree in engineering, and business administration or similar meriting experience in the automotive industry on top would be a plus. As a person, you are an accurate, patient, declaratory, pathfinder and sometimes an advisor, have a strong ability to plan your own work and deliver the outputs meeting tight deadlines/schedules. Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and build trust and are clear in your communication with others. You should have high integrity with good judgment and can adapt to work according to Scania's company culture. As the role will involve international contacts and travel, you need to be fluent in spoken and written English. Swedish, or German, is an advantage as well as other language skills. Experience from working/studying abroad is meritorious.
