Cost Value Engineer (CVE) to join us at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery AB, in Finspång
We are looking for team members to our newly formed Cost and Value engineering team. This team is responsible for the cost and value evaluation of all components and systems purchased for business unit DG. Cost value engineers work across the business unit to establish transparency in cost and value of products, systems, solutions and contribute with improvement proposals to deliver value at lowest cost. In addition CVEs support in target costing, design to value, supply chain productivity improvement programs and negotiations. They apply various methods such as bottom-up cost calculation and cost scaling, linear performance pricing, requirements management and supplier workshops.
What will be my tasks?
• Support procurement with target cost and cost breakdown in negotiations with suppliers.
• Develop cost transparency of the production processes of procured parts and identify improvement potentials.
• Support design decisions by quantifying related product costs.
• Run CVE sprint projects to develop, quantify and drive productivity improvement measures with a cross-functional team.
• Guide engineering in design for manufacturing.
• Work in collaboration with development, engineering and purchasing to set up and strive toward common strategic goals.
What is required of me?
• More than 5 years of experience in production, production engineering or R&D, e.g., as technology expert or in design engineering with experience working alongside manufacturing.
• Knowledge of gas turbine components manufacturing processes.
• Experience of cost value engineering methods is of advantage.
• Ability to analyze technical problems with a value- and product cost aware approach.
• You are used to work independently, in an organized and structured way, with many contact points both internal and external.
• You have a university degree or other relevant education.
• You have a good skills in English verbally and in writing, you are comfortable using the language.
• Collaboration with other Siemens sites and global CVE network requires traveling up to 1 week per month on average.
