Reuters is looking for an experienced and news-hungry journalist to break news and deliver insightful stories about Sweden's industrial and tech sectors. The beat includes established global heavyweights such as Volvo and Electrolux as well as the emerging technologies and firms that are reshaping the industrial landscape in areas such as the so-called Internet of Things, smart factories and self-driving cars. Based in Stockholm, the successful candidate is a flexible team player who will join a tightly-knit bureau covering companies as well as economic, political and general news, and may be required to aid reporting efforts outside his or her main area of coverage. He or she will work closely with Reuters correspondents and editors in other regions, and have a knack for cultivating sources and developing original story ideas.
Skills and experience:
3-5 years of experience in journalism
Experience in covering company news
Excellent written English essential, proficiency in Swedish a plus
Excellent news judgment required, with focus on big stories and wider context
Ability to work under pressure at a news wire, where speed, accuracy and balance are essential
A passion for developing sources and breaking news
