We're looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to join the Global Marketing and Communications team at Heimstaden Group.
As a Corporate Communications Manager your main responsibility is to tell the story about Heimstaden and our awesome mission - to enrich and simplify life through friendly homes. As a Corporate communications manager in the Marketing and Communications team you will join a dedicated team of internal and corporate communication specialists. Your main responsibility will be to work with PR & media relations, identifying stories and angles, develop content and share communication around Heimstaden. You will support the business and all Heimstaden markets with proactive and reactive content, incoming requests and advice when Heimstaden is being challenged.
Job Description
As a Corporate communication manager you are responsible for leading planned and unplanned PR strategies. You shall identify and implement proactive PR & corporate communication opportunities and support the long term Marketing and Communication plan as well as cater for the best possible support for the unplanned requests from the organisation.
In your role you will develop communication material for both PR as well as for presentations for external and internal audiences where you will do background research for valid facts and arguments.
You will support our local markets with advices and communication material, securing that Heimstaden is presented in a proactive and positive way as well as support the markets with communication expertise in issues and incident handling.
You are also expected to have knowledge of media monitoring and will take lead of the general incident management plan and secure trained spokespersons.
You need to be a pro-active self-starter with the confidence and credibility to work independently. We are a small team where all are expected to pitch in and help each other out, when needed, in other marketing and communication assignments.
Responsibilities Serve as a Heimstaden spokesperson Develop and implement strategic communication programs and provide tactical public relations support Develop and maintain successful relationships with the media and prepare press materials (e.g. write press releases for national and international markets), statements, talking points, presentations and op-eds, etc. as needed for public relations activities including distribution through various channels Create content like presentations, messaging guidelines, Q&As, fact sheets, briefing documents, story pitches and speeches. Effectively create and implement internal and external communications activities, working with 'channel leads' (e.g. HR, Sustainability, Public Affairs) Create SoMe content for organic channels and respond on SoMe posts/mentions Organize initiatives and plan events or press conferences Ensure appropriate and timely response to media under tight and sometimes urgent timelines; develop and implement effective communication activities in response to strategic priorities and incident situations Proactively pitch and pursue placement in trade, national and international media outlets, including developing pitches, preparation and coordination of media interviews/briefings, and response to media inquiries Provide media and communications training and support to Heimstaden staff Responsible for the Corporate incident communication plan and support issues preparedness and incident management to protect brand and company reputation Monitoring press stories relating to the company and its brand and maximising opportunities for positive PR and playing down any negative PR. Responsible for PR budget to ensure we have the tools and resource to have unrivalled communications
Preferred skills and experience 7+ years of experience in communications or public relations Prior experience as media spokesperson Exceptional track record in working effectively with the media, including demonstrated success in pitching and placing pieces in trade and consumer media Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills Impeccable Swedish and English writing skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate information to multiple audiences, in an inspirational way with the tone of voice of Heimstaden. Established skills in strategic and critical thinking, decision-making, negotiation, and relationship-building Ability to quickly grasp and synthesize complex issues Must be highly organized, detail oriented and possess a proven ability to thrive under deadline pressure and to execute on a number of projects simultaneously Experience with social media strategies and tactics Successful experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented team environment Experience in working with incident management and creating strategies for prevention of risk situations as well as handling risks and reactive unplanned communication. Self-motivated, with a strong drive and a problem-solving approach. Experience in leading communication projects and enjoy working in a team. Experience in working with PR & Communication in an international context is qualifying.
You will be located at the Heimstaden head office in Malmö and report to the Chief Marketing and Communication Officer.
