Innovation drives everything we do, especially as we work to transform global food systems. Our Processing Development team plays a key role in this mission by leading direction and execution of activities shaping cutting-edge food technologies.
We're now looking for a Manager Core and Novel Food Technology (CNFT) team. In this role, you'll lead a team of experts and help ensure our technology stays competitive and forward-looking. You'll work closely with both internal teams and external partners, including universities and industry networks.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading innovation, building strong relationships, and guiding long-term technology strategy. You'll be responsible for leveraging and growing expertise in key technology areas and making sure we stay ahead in food processing space.
You'll report to the Director of Processing Development and contribute to the overall R&D strategy, bringing valuable insights and direction to the management team.
The position is located in Lund, Sweden, but you will work in a global arena.
What you will do
As the CNFT manager in the Processing Development team, you'll lead both the strategy and day-to-day work related to developing new technologies for our Processing business.
Your main goal will be to guide R&D efforts toward innovative, future-focused projects that support sustainable growth. You'll help set the direction for how we explore and develop new food technologies.
You'll work closely with your team and collaborate with other departments, research partners, and industry networks to build knowledge and drive innovation.
To succeed in this role, you'll need strong leadership and communication skills. You should enjoy working with people, inspiring collaboration, and navigating a fast-moving, innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the CNFT team - Set direction, manage priorities, and oversee planning and budgeting, all aligned with our long-term strategy.
Align with business strategy - Stay updated on business roadmaps and 3-year plans to ensure our technology work supports overall goals.
Guide technology development - Identify and prioritize technology needs across the Processing Solutions & Equipment (PSE) organization, and coordinate with business teams, experts, and project managers.
Manage academic partnerships - Act as the main contact for planning and overseeing collaborations with universities and research institutions, including handling agreements and intellectual property.
Build external networks - Stay connected with external partners to share and grow knowledge in technology and innovation.
Drive early innovation - Lead local early-stage innovation efforts within PSE, especially those linked to our PC3.0 framework.
Enable and promote knowledge sharing - Encourage and facilitate the exchange of expertise within our key technology competence areas to strengthen organizational capabilities and support continuous learning.
Support career development - Own and develop the career path for technologists, aligned with our core technologies and key competencies.
Communicate progress - Keep stakeholders informed with regular updates through platforms like Orbis, Viva Engage, webinars, and leadership meetings.
Oversee lab operations - Manage both short- and long-term planning for our lab at PDC and Lund Technical University.

Your Background and Skills:
A Master's degree or higher in food technology, chemistry, or a related field (Holding a PhD would be a plus.)
8-10 years of proven leadership experience in food processing or similar industries.
Strong track record in managing complex projects, teams, and stakeholder relationships.
Experience working with academic and industry partners, including managing research projects, agreements, and intellectual property.
Skilled in strategic planning and budget management.
Broad knowledge of food processing technologies and sustainable food systems, with an understanding of the wider ecosystem of industry, academia, and public institutions.
Familiarity with food-related regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in English; additional languages (like Swedish) are a plus.
