PlantLink (www.plantlink.se) is a research network in the area of plant sciences in the south of Sweden. It was formed in 2011 as an alliance between Lund University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Alnarp (SLU Alnarp) with financial support from the Skåne Regional Council (Region Skåne). Now we are looking for a coordinator within PlantLink to strengthen the network and develop our activities.
PlantLink strives to increase and improve the interest and competence in the plant research area through education and information. We also want to create an environment that promotes innovation and leads to a dynamic interaction between the two universities and private sector and public stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be placed at SLU Alnarp, but will also be regularly at Lund University, and interact with plant researchers at both universities.
Duties:
We are looking for a coordinator to strengthen and develop PlantLink's activities. These include communicating with students, researchers and stakeholders, arranging workshops and seminars, contacts with industry including managing the PlantLink industrial mentor program, applying for research network grants, manage outreach activities and planning to develop PlantLink as a research network.
The work will require good communication skills and an ability to work within a dynamic network of researchers, administrators and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The candidate should preferably have a PhD degree or equivalent either related to plant science or alternatively have a strong personal interest in plant research in natural or agricultural systems. Excellent English language skills and a good ability to work in a collaborative research environment are required. A command of Swedish is advantageous. Good skills in writing and speech are necessary.
Documented experiences in coordinating research projects and/or outreach activities are merits as are proofs of independence and collaborative skills
