You will be a part of our global development team for Power Transformers, and your focus will be on improving, developing and optimizing the performance of power transformers. As a part of this group, you will collaborate with other ABB plants and research institutes in various projects – using the latest technology and tools.
Qualifications:
You preferably have a Ph.D. or Master in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent competence and experience. You must also be experienced in computational methods and have expert knowledge in electromagnetic theory, modelling and simulations. Further, it is positive if you have knowledge of and experience from software tools such as Infolytica or COMSOL. As our projects are international, it is essential that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Skills in Swedish or the willingness to learn is desirable. Qualifying competencies are: knowledge of and experience from industrial R&D, electrical insulation technology, Materials Science and Electrical Technology and or/ practical experience from electrical measurement technology. It is an advantage if you also have experience from project management. To be successful in this position it is essential that you possess determination, a high sense of quality and the ability to cooperate.
The department of Transformer Development at Power Transformers in Ludvika is part of the global team responsible for ABB Power Transformer strategic research and development for Power Transformers and Reactors. Key competences of the group are physics of electric and thermal fields, modelling and simulation.
