As Controls Engineer in the Standard Controls team, you will support in the development of a global controls standard for FlexLink by developing internal standards, guidelines, tools and solutions for the FlexLink Controls Platform. You will play a significant role in offering an innovative, future-proof & high quality controls system which fulfills both market requirements and our own internal needs. You will report to the Senior Manager Standard Controls, and be located at our global HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The department of Standard Controls are the technology drivers within FlexLink. We evaluate new solutions and technologies related to controls before bringing them into R&D-projects or system sales. The group can provide expert knowledge in relevant standards, regulations and technologies.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
• Design, develop & maintain the FlexLink Controls platform - our preferred platform of technology and system architecture for controlling modules and complete lines
• Develop standardized solutions and functions
• Responsible for managing subprojects
• Prepare technical presentations and train controls engineers within FlexLink
• Cooperate closely with the project fulfillment organization to drive engineering efficiency
Ideal Candidate Experience and Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or similar from work experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience from leading industrial automation projects within manufacturing or similar
• Good understanding and interest for system design including multiple products and technologies
• Good application knowledge in order to translate market requirements into real solutions
• Experience in all fields within controls engineering (PLC, HMI, Motion Control, Industrial communication, SCADA etc.)
• Basic understanding of Robotics-programming (ABB, Kuka, Fanuc, etc)
• Basic understanding of embedded software development
• Proficient in English - speaking and writing
• A team player willing to share your competence and experience with others
During the first year you may travel around 30-50 days while getting to know the business, but will be able to travel less after that.
