Purpose of the role
• Co-ordinate and provide business support in the operation of the financial planning process
• Develop reporting templates and responsible for updating and quality check the standard reports
• Streamlining and improving the value delivered from the financial planning process
• Finance business partner to CBAS R&D management
• Provide business and project support in global financial transformation initiatives
• Ad hoc analysis and reporting, and collect/analyse data for the Cochlear BAS commercial analysis
Key Responsibilities:
• Co-ordination and support in the delivery of the planning function. This includes the quarterly rolling forecasts, the annual budget and 3 yr planning process
• Development of reporting templates for the purpose of analysing and reviewing forecast submissions
• Analysis of submissions to check for accuracy, oversights or unexplained variances
• Financial business partner to R&D departments
• Identification and implementing of ongoing improvements in the financial planning processes
• Development of fact base analysis and decision making material including KPI's and operational metrics
• Support the users of key financial systems (eg Hyperion)
• Support the ongoing development of the CBAS global commercial analysis, and other ad-hoc analysis and projects
Requirements:
• Qualification in accounting or other post-grad finance discipline with at least 5 years commercial experience;
• Background in a manufacturing environment and/or medical devices industry
• Fluent in English and ability to work in an intra-cultural environment
• Experience with forecasting/reporting processes for a multi-national organisation
• Experience from participating in global change projects
• Skilled in extracting and analysing data from a number of systems such as ERP (eg oracle), BI systems (eg hyperion, business objects);
• Strong technical skills in financial modeling using MS Excel and strong MS PowerPoint skills
• Good attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to critically review submissions
• The energy and ability to manage own time to deliver to tight deadlines
• Good communication skills with the ability to assist in process management to planned timetable, whilst maintaining relationships with, and supporting multiple customers
