In this position you will be a part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Research and Safety Market Division (RSD), which delivers over 800,000 different products to a wide range of customers helping them to accelerate life sciences research, solve complex analytical challenges, improve patient diagnostics and increase laboratory productivity.
You will be joining a team of 6 Controllers within RSD Nordics and report directly into the Division's Finance Manager in Denmark. The role is based in our Gothenburg office where over 45 people work from. Your main responsibility will be to report for our Swedish business but also to cover the other Nordic countries if needed. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
This role will suit an experienced controller who enjoys working independently within an international matrix organisation. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Preparing all financial documentation for the month end close and make the proper entries into our systems.
• HFM completion and check.
• Support of cost and sales analysis, for example, gross margins, orders and sales entries.
• VAT and tax statement preparation.
• Partaking in the forecast and analysis of actual results.
• Ensuring compliance with Internal and External audit, Tax and legal requirements.
• Ensuring accuracy of the reported figures
• Be the main contact for Internal and External audit, Tax and legal external partners
• Supervise the statutory books for the Swedish RSD entity
• Set up and improve accounting and IBS processes
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To succeed in this role you must have worked in a similar position within a finance department for a minimum of 2-3 years. You must also have a finance, economics or similar educational background.
We are looking for someone who enjoys work independently and who is comfortable with taking the lead and initiative. We hope that you enjoy working in a hands-on job, and are able to cope well under pressure.
You must speak fluent Swedish and English, Finnish, Norwegian or Danish would also be beneficial as you will work regularly with the rest of the Nordic countries. Experience of HFM and IBS would be beneficial.
