The Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) has experienced rapid growth for a number of years and continuously aims to improve the internal control and governance. As SIWI is essentially publicly funded, quality control and internal financial control is paramount. External auditor's task is to monitor internal governance and control. The controller?s main responsibility is to assist management in organising and performing its activities with adequate internal control. The position is located at the Knowledge Services department and the controller reports to the department Director.
Work tasks:
• Lead and coordinate the internal management and control systems (jointly with the Finance Manager)
• Be responsible for overall monitoring of the internal management and control reporting to financiers.
• Develop SIWIs controller function
• Responsible for SIWIs contacts with financiers and design SIWI?s response to their and external auditors' reports on annual accounts and project accounting
Qualifications required:
Education:
• University degree in a relevant field of activity, preferably in business or public administration
Languages
• Fluent in English (knowledge of Swedish is an advantage)
Skills and work experience:
• Experience from working with finance and project management and quality control in the public or private sector
• Several years experience in leading or coordinating internal control processes
• Practical experience working with risk analysis
• Several years of experience of project follow-up, reporting, review and evaluation
Merits

• Work in development organisations or NGO?s
• Previous work in an international environment
• Familiarity with legislation and regulations government- and international organizations
Employment conditions:
The position is a one-year contract, with the intention of an extension.
Salary by agreement.
