The successful candidate will be part of the finance team in Stockholm which currently consists of five persons, and will be reporting directly to SEI's Financial Director.
The successful candidate will focus on leading and supporting financial objectives in research projects from the start to the end of the project. You will work closely with the project managers from project design, applications and budgets to final reports and audits. The role entails creation of appropriate systems for financial monitoring tailormade and relevant for the specific projects.
Main responsibilities:
• Drafting and reviewing project budgets;
• Developing and managing project financial monitoring systems;
• Compiling project financial reports to funders;
• Preparing project financial audits;
• Supporting the financial management and control systems of the SEI international centers in Bangkok, Nairobi, and Bogota, with particular focus on developing financial procedures for the newly started center in Bogota.
The position is an international headquarter role that requires frequent conversations with the other SEI centres in English. Applications and dialogue with funders are made in both Swedish and English.
We are looking for a candidate with an academic degree in finance and with at least 3 years of relevant experience from working with financial budgeting and reporting. As a person you possess excellent analytical skills and have an interest and ability to build appropriate systems for financial monitoring. You will need to master MS Excel at a proficiency level and are fluent in Swedish and English.
As this role requires collaboration with key project stakeholder, we are looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Other desirable qualifications are:
• Experience of ERP systems in general, and Agresso in particular.
• Familiarity with internal control procedures and business workflows.
• Experience of working in a knowledge based project organization or consultancy.
• Experience of working in an international context.
• Experience of EU funding and funding through development cooperation agencies is highly relevant
