Scania is aiming to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, by developing safe, smart and energy-efficient transport solutions that are better for people and the planet. At the Otto engine control system software team, we are responsible for delivery of high quality engine control software for Scania engines running on CNG, LNG and biogas. Considering the lower carbon footprint from such engines compared to diesel engines, we are well fit in a sustainable transport solution portfolio with a promissing market outlook.
Your tasks
As a control software engineer at our group you will have the opportunity to experience all stages of software developement. Your daily tasks from time to time can vary between:
• Implementing software solutions for control, diagnosis or testing of an engine functionality
• Testing your implementations in simulation tools, a truck on our test track or in an engine test cell
• Documentation of software implementations on our database
Your profile
We think our new team member has a masters or higher degree in mechatronics, computer engineering or similar fields. We also believe you are:
• Humble and have a positive attitude towards new challenges
• Eager to try and learn new things
• A team player who can also work independently when needed
Knowledge in the following areas is a strong merit:
• Experince in C or other programming language(s)
• Simulation using Matlab or similar
• Familiarity with combustion engine working principles and thermodynamics
• Experince in physical system modeling, control and signal processing
We offer
Our team consists of experineced engineers who are constantly collaborating with many other groups at Scania and MAN in Germany. We reqularly perform expedition activities in northern Sweden and other destinations such as Alps in Europe. During these trips, our team gets to have first hand experience of our system performance on the road while using the most up to date testing and evaluation tools and techniques in the field. We also support our employees to get their driving license for trucks and trailers.
As a newly graduate, you will have the chance to train up your skills in a professional environment. On the other hand, if you already have experience in this field, our organisation values your skills by cutting short the steps between your ideas and actual software features and what is more fun for an engineer than seeing ideas comming to life so fast.
