Plant Civil Design and Construction is a function within HVDC with responsibility for construction planning of HVDC's converter stations as well as for monitoring of building contractors around the world. The department consists of eleven coworkers in Ludvika and three coworkers in India.
As contract project manager you will have the whole world as your workplace as you will participate in, and follow up, the construction work for our global projects worth hundreds of millions SEK. The projects usually run between one and two years, which means that you will have the opportunity to discover new interesting places during your time at our global sites. You will be part of the entire construction process, from startup to finalized production and commissioning. As leader of our building contractors you will also make sure that the work is executed according to technical specifications and within given time frames and budget. It will be your task to decide which technical solutions we should use and to follow up contracts and compile specifications for procurement of building contractors. From a construction-engineering point of view you will deepen your skills in everything from geotechnics, ground, foundation and steel construction to ventilation and HVAC. This position provides you with a large responsibility for our construction projects and the opportunity to advance within one of the leading companies in the industry.
Requirements
To be suitable for this role you need several years' experience as construction manager or site manager and good knowledge of the construction process. As a foundation you probably have a Construction Engineering degree alternatively a Bachelor's or Master's degree and preferably a consultant or project manager background. It is an advantage if you previously have worked within the energy industry and if you have experience of substations. It is equally advantageous if you have design and planning skills. Fluency in English is required, whereas knowledge of German and Spanish is a plus. As contract project manager you will work closely with the project team, why it is a prerequisite that you have strong collaboration skills and confidence when holding meetings and leading your colleagues in their work. On a personal level you are structured and self-confident to handle both ups and downs. Based on your industry experience you also manage to find solutions to any problem that might occur.
