Bleaching Chemicals is one of three global sub business units within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals. We are the world's largest manufacturer of sodium chlorate and one of the largest producers of hydrogen peroxide. We supply essential chemicals to the global pulp industry and other selected industries from 24 locations worldwide. Our head office is located in Marietta, Georgia, USA and we employ 950 people.

Both Sodium Chlorate and Hydrogen Peroxide are produced at the Alby site, which is located just outside Ånge in Västernorrland. Around 86 people are employed in Alby.

Responsibility

As Continuous Improvement Manager you will support the organization in Alby, ensuring efficient processes and establishing a culture for continuous improvements. Further you should facilitate the onsite rollout and maintenance of the AkzoNobel Leading Performance System (ALPS) which is a harmonized way of working.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Act as Lean Six Sigma brown belt at the site.
• Support the site leadership in improvement project idea generation, project chartering, action planning, implementation and change management.
• Development of visual systems and transfer of identified good practices in a standardized network approach.
• Build organizational alignment while consistently building awareness of KPI?s.
• Act as Key user for GMT/MES and share best practices
• Develop control plans, as necessary, to ensure improvement results are effective and survivable over time.

Job requirements

• At least a Bachelors Degree (technical degree preferred)
• At least 5 years of experience within an operational role (production, process engineer, maintenance etc)
• Experience in line management or team management in large projects
• To be an AkzoNobel trained Brown Belt or be willing to be trained as a Brown Belt (two weeks) and commit to requirements for Brown Belt certification.
• Excellent skills in Swedish and English, writing and oral communication
• Drivers license

As a member of the local management team in Alby, reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in the continued success of the Alby site.
