Continually challenge conventional thinking and drive accountability for R&D results including foremost product quality, but also lead time and cost etc.
Teach continuous improvement thinking and lead Kaizen events within the development community.
Continuously apply a data driven approach to identify most important improvement activities to drive product performance and ensure timely execution of identified improvement portfolio.

Knowledge and Experience:
7+ years of experience, preferably in the development area, or quality and process improvements. Track record of delivering breakthrough results impacting the bottom line. Developing strategy and translating into actionable plans and driving sustainable change through influence. Experience of being a Change Agent challenging conventional thinking, approach and methodology and driving improvements. Leading teams through influence without authority. Working knowledge of lean development and six sigma strategies and principles.
Skills and Behaviors:
Able to efficiently multi-task initiatives such as trainings, kaizen, follow up activities, reports etc. Understands how to use process and organizational maturity assessments in a business / facility / site to prioritize improvement actions. Able to effectively lead kaizen events to support business needs. Effective communicator at various levels of the organization (from business leadership to employees on factory floor). Project Management and strong problem solving skills.

As a foundation, you hold a university degree in a technical field. Background in Operations and formal recognition of merits in Lean Methodologies and/or Six Sigma is advantageous. As you will be working in a global environment, you are fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of additional languages is meritorious.
In our continued efforts to strengthen our ability to Make Quality Happen, ABB Grid Automation Products is seeking a Continuous Improvement Leader - focus on R&D - to drive sustainable and transformational change targeting our development activities. As a Continuous Improvement Leader you will combine technical knowledge in lean and six sigma with people and organizational skills to deliver data driven improvements.
This role is part of the Global Operations and OPEX function based at our lead manufacturing and R&D facility in Västerås, Sweden, where you will take part in defining and driving a portfolio of identified improvement initiatives ensuring the success of our products lines.
