The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) is an independent academic institution established in 1984. The mission of the Institute is to promote universal respect for human rights and humanitarian law by means of research, academic education, and institutional development. The vision of the Institute is to be a centre of excellence meeting the highest international standards in all its fields of operation, contributing to the development of societies based on a human rights culture. In addition to research and academic education programmes, RWI has since 1990 been implementing a wide range of human rights capacity development programmes for institutions in developing countries, mainly with the support of the Swedish Development Cooperation. The Department of International Programmes manages and coordinates the Institute?s human rights capacity development programmes and projects. These programmes and projects primarily target state agencies in the field of
administration of justice, academic institutions and national human rights institutions in developing countries and in countries in transition.

Summary: RWI is currently seeking candidates to fill the position of Content Developer ? Human Rights Programmes, based in Lund, Sweden, at the Department of International Programmes.
The position is a fixed term (for the year 2014) position with possible extension.

Main Tasks and Responsiblities: The Content Developer?s (CD) primary responsibility is to assist programme staff in the development of content related to the work and activities of the Department of International Programmes at RWI and to contribute to showcasing results achieved. The tasks in this respect include writing and editing content for print and digital materials and documents, as well as revising and updating existing content amied at reaching diverse target groups. The CD will participate in key projects and support the development and refinement of reports, promotional materials, training
manuals, blended learning courses and other documentation. All tasks will be carried out in close cooperation with staff of the Department of International Programme, under the overall supervision of the Head of Department.

Qualifications:
• Native English Speaker, with excellent English language editing and writing skills;
• Minimum of two years? experience in a similar role writing and editing reports, training/educational materials and/or promotional materials preferred;
• Knowledge of and commitment to working with human rights preferred;
• Ability to produce written materials in a variety of formats, quickly, accurately, and effectively;
• Ability to synthesise complex materials into clearly understandable copy;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and accuracy in tasks; strong organisation, and time management skills; and the ability to perform work with changing priorities and aggressive deadlines;
• Relevant university degree;
• High level of computer proficiency, including the use of MS Office applications. Knowledge of other digital publishing programmes advantageous; and
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and across Department Units in an international, multi-cultural environment
