Paradox is on an ambitious journey to explore and expand on Grand Strategy Games, a genre we invented and want to take to new heights. To do this, we are looking for a Content Designer in Malmö to help make sure our games live up to their vast potential.
As a Content Designer on our team, you will be focused on designing, scripting, researching and writing engaging game content and script based mechanics. Your work will have a direct and influential impact on the quality and feel of the game.
We are looking for developers passionate about creating exciting experiences for our players. It's important that you enjoy working in a team where everyone supports each other and work together on the game, and also that you are motivated by having the freedom and responsibility to take charge of a task and deliver. You care about the end result and you're motivated by giving our many passionate fans a great player experience.
Responsibilities
Scripting game logic, game databases, and branching narratives using our in-house scripting language
Designing and implementing short narratives as well as other types of content for various gameplay systems
Writing text for in-game content in (American) English that thematically fits within the game
Engaging in research on related topics to find inspiration for crafting entertaining content that creates memorable gaming experiences
Taking ownership of tasks and working independently to ensure quality and timely delivery in coordination with the other Content Designers
Required Qualifications
Experience with or interest in code-based scripting
Fluent in English with an excellent command of written American English
Passion for strategy games and game development
Strong sense of independence and an ability to take long-term ownership of your features.
Bonus points for...
Professional experience in narrative design or game design
Familiarity with Paradox Grand Strategy games
An interest in history
Experience modding games, especially Paradox Grand Strategy Games
