The Communications Division of the Project Support and Administration Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Content and Social Media Communications Officer.

Overall responsibility:

Lead the development and implementation of compelling content and drive an active social media presence in select channels.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

• Manage ESS' annual content and social media plan and budget
• Develop strong, strategic content and social media presence, integrated in a variety of touch-points in line with the overall ESS messaging
• Business Partner with External Relations and Governance developing content as needed to support their fields in relation to their stakeholder
• Produce video for web, and social media
• Produce general ESS content aimed at building a strong identity as an admired, attractive and trusted research facility
• Curate and publish ESS related content in the appropriate channels
• Be the link between our External Relations function and communications
• Lead the ESS Editorial board securing an aligned content calendar
• Maintain, develop and execute an ESS social media training programme
• Maintain a high-quality content in our channels - relevance, timeliness and reliability
• Provide fact-based insights on best use of social media

Qualifications

• University degree in communications, preferably combined with studies in science.
• 10+ years' experience from content development and social media management in a science or R&D-intensive organisation
• Excellent English and Swedish writing and narration skills for content in a variety of channels
• Strong experience from driving and managing editorial/content projects related to science, including experience from writing articles on science and science facilities
• Editorial leadership experience for publications, content hubs, web platforms etc.
• Editorial workflow and production of written, photographic, video and animated content.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in developing, social media strategies and execution - editing, commissioning, publishing, developing content and ideas
• Ability to manage multiple, senior and diverse stakeholders in a matrixed environment
• Ability to synthesize diverse initiatives into a clear and compelling framework that helps stakeholders and content providers understand how actions support a broader agenda
• Exceptional coaching skills helping leaders and senior experts define and develop messages that are clear, concise, creative and compelling
• Global mindset with awareness of multiculturalism and diversity
• Ability to work with ambiguity
• Strong team player

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
