Our business
The Oral and Maxillofacial surgery section with 46 employees includes in addition to OMF surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial radiology, Ortodontics and Oral Medicine. The section conducts research in collaboration with Uppsala University and several international collaborators in academia and industry. Our clinics are quality certified according to ISO 9001: 2008 and SS-EN 15224: 2012.
OMFS and plastic surgery conduct a major part of the hospital's highly specialized national and regional care in close cooperation between other specialties. The activities are organized in a matrix with five subject areas where OMFS represents one. The Plastic and OMFS department have around 200 employees, including 4 OMFS surgeons, 14 plastic surgeons, 4 residents, 2 assistant dentists and 5 doctors in specialty training who work with a wide reconstructive plastic and OMFS. Our patients receive care in multidisciplinary teams with representatives inside and outside the department.
Work duties
The successful applicant will be expected to provide a broad range of general Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and facial trauma management, outpatient clinics and surgical sessions under local anaesthetic in support of the surgical care provided within the department The service also includes teaching and supervision of prospective dentists, doctors and students at other university programs. On call duty is mandatory in this kind of position.
Qualifications
We are looking for a certified dentist with specialist expertise Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Experience from research and development work is meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as initiative capacity, flexibility and cooperation.
Terms
We offer a time-limited employment of one year, with the possibility of renewal. The service is full-time and start date is decided in agreement with you.
