As a Construction Planner your main duty will be calculating and estimating the costs and time frame for projects in the sales process.
Every project is unique, it can vary from involving a smaller group of people to mega projects on site and at the same time, you will be involved in different sales projects. Valmet is a global company, and you will work with projects all around the world. Your office and closest colleagues will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
As a Construction Planner, you are part of the site management team, working on both sales projects and ongoing projects, with colleagues from different disciplines. So here you will have the opportunity for many different contacts to a various number of professionals, both internally and externally such as customers, sub-contractors, transportation companies and authorities for needed certificates and permissions.
Before the site works starts, you will also be involved in the planning of facilities such as the office, containers, storage, logistics and cranes will be located at site. In other words, the Construction Planner plays a key role in the final phase of the project 's. You will be working with Valmet's own designed products from the engineering phase to handover and after some time you will be a true expert in construction planning.
Who are you?
First of all you have practical experience from piping or mechanical construction and site work. You are comfortable working in different computing systems such as the common MS Office solutions. You will also get the opportunity in this role to learn other special tools in order to manage estimation and planning activities. Most likely you have a technical education from colleges or similar.
As a person you are self-confident, structured and can prioritize even in pressured situations. You enjoy working in teams and have good communication skills. You are well aware of the importance of sharing information, experience and insights quickly within the team. As a Construction Planner it is important to be curious and eager to dig deep into problems in order to find the best solution.
Are you not an expert in all the MS office tools? With the right mindset and pre-knowledge, you have the opportunity to deepen your skills and in planning tools and systems.
