Let us describe the challenge we offer

Polestar is growing, both globally and rapidly. This leads to us expanding into new facilities in different locations. Our Retail Construction & Supply Chain team is focused on facility development with a sustainable approach. The team is now searching for a Construction & Facility Manager to coordinate and support the building and installation of Polestar Retail formats within our global markets. In a collaborative role such as this, you will be the intermediary between clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and regulatory personnel.

This position will be located at our HQ, Gothenburg Sweden.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects as the representative at each worksite in dealings with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, government inspectors and very importantly our investors. You will ensure that facility management is executed in a timely manner, and proactively drive sustainability initiatives in accordance with Polestar sustainability goals. Also, you will work directly with our partners to ensure flawless execution of projects within the scope of work, budget as well as liaising between engineers, architects and others working on the projects.

For example, tasks may include:

• Oversee and provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork ensuring quality standards are met
• Ensuring compliance with all federal and state procedures, regulations, and codes, and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis
• Support and educate investors throughout the process
• Attend coordination and progress meetings; make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout

Who you are

This role is perfect for you with an energetic attitude and the desire to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a sharp attention to detail. Your excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills create strong relationships with partners and suppliers. Additionally, you are looking forward to occasionally work during non-standard hours and travel for work.

Further on, we are searching for you with:

• Minimum five years of retail and management experience of construction and remodeling projects, with at least a few years in the APAC region
• Good knowledge of construction methods and technologies, and ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts
• Knowledge of building code requirements and scheduling methods

It would also be meritorious if you combined with above have relevant experience from working in the Middle East Region. Experience in the architectural, engineering or construction field is an advantage.

At Polestar, you will be part of a cross-functional and international team, with English as a natural language for written and spoken communication. Since Polestar is in a scale up phase you thrive by working in a fast-paced environment.
