The Role: Construction Manager (CM)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Prepares, manages and expedites Topsides construction, integration and completion activities (including preservation) carried out by Contractor or subcontractors until FPSO sail away.
• Assists the Deputy Topside Manager in his duties covering all construction phases, including construction methods validation, yards prefabrications, construction, and equipment installation, up to mechanical completion.
• He organizes Weekly construction meetings, giving instructions, collecting information and ensuring that Company requirements are understood and implemented by Contractor. He assesses and improves the efficiency of Topside Construction team
• Assist Deputy Topside Manager to verify construction progress report by contractor and prepare effective construction activities monitoring for all construction site
• Review construction execution plan, resources mobilization planning, and supervision organization and proffer recommendations for improvement/ performance enhancement.
• Ensure the progress of construction engineering activities and monitors schedule and program in Topside construction process .He reviews schedule and advises Deputy Topside Manager of drift and delays.
• He anticipates construction problems, report to Deputy Topside Manager and propose course of action to mitigate these problems.
• Liaise with Engineering Team, QC Team, Area Project Engineer and Commissioning team to ensure technical compliance and the completion of Topside Construction Activities .
• Manages pre-commissioning activities, monitor that tasks sheets are properly completed and validate the RFC dossiers. He follows the associated punch lists clearance and ensures a smooth transition to commissioning team
• He ensures that sail away is timely with correct identification and material location, preservation and sea-fastening.
• Encourage performance improvement and lesson learnt capitalization through REX+
• Monitor and manage the preparation of as-built drawing and all related construction documentation for final report and hand-over process to Field Operation.
Requirements:
• Over 20 years of experience in construction activities of the oil & gas industry.
• Experience in FPSO Topside or process topside construction
• Quality control and Assurance knowledge on various disciplines
• Available for workshops and subcontractors visits
• Computer literate
• Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Swedish
• Willingness to travel to Basra, Iraq on monthly basis with each visit lasting for 10 days on average
• Hard worker, down to earth, and a team player
• Enjoy being in a multinational work environment
• Comfortable with working under tight and fast moving deadlines
