Volvo Construction Equipment is in middle of a huge change journey implementing the Product Lifecycle Management way of living, which means big improvements are done to business processes and the supporting IT solutions. Our team is in the core of this journey, delivering all the IT solutions and infrastructure to support the PLM.
Main characteristics of the job
This position will be one of our main quality assurance and control improvement leaders. You will be working on complete SC CE Technology delivery, focusing on the main platforms VCE Windchill (PTC) and Chain (Service Now), but also some of the smaller applications that are crucial for SC CE Technology delivery.
Your main responsibility will be to define and establish a proper Configuration Management system for our agile teams. This covers from SW CM perspective Source Code Management, Build Engineering, Development Environment Management, Change Control, Release and Deployment Management. On top of the SW CM activities you will be the main resource ensuring that our Application Models are getting updated in CMDB whenever we make that kind of changes in our Solutions.
We have SaaS, COTS and in-house solutions based mainly on .Net and Java platforms. So experience from SCM tools and both CI and CD used in these platforms will be one of your strengths.
You will be located in one of the Delivery departments within SC CE Technology, but work with 3 departments (multiple agile teams) from a holistic and global perspective. So good flexibility in bending your mind around different scenarios is expected, but at the same time driving towards a generic CM System that we all can adhere to and reuse resources from each other's teams to fill in during capacity variance periods.
