Job summary

The Configuration Manager Development (CM) is responsible for maintaining a controlled way to handle and guide development and change of systems and products, under their entire life cycle.

The CM will achieve the targets by developing and documenting processes, development and maintenance of CM tool chains and supporting and mentoring scrum teams.

The work as CM aims to provide support and guidance to all stakeholders, in a streamlined and efficient way.

Key responsibilities

Identify and maintain the software control management plan within development
• Define and plan version control activities in cooperation with software developers
• Provide input and guidance to the development teams on tools strategy with regards to SW control activities.
• Define, plan and implement the baseline strategy
• Define, plan and implement processes and tools for ensuring configuration management compliance in new (regulated) markets and jurisdictions

Configuration control
• Develop, implement and maintain the versioning, branching, merging and labelling strategy
• Secure that correct versions of tools, processes, templates and libraries are used within development
• Make sure that earlier versions of the product can be reproduced
• Responsible for adherence to configuration management policies to ensure compliance in regulated jurisdictions
• Support in audits executed by external regulatory bodies
• Maintain all software CM documentation
• Monitor and assist in the maintenance of the version control environment.

Status accounting
• Provide support concerning patches, upgrades and version control infrastructure.
• Inform development and other parties about the status of the changes done to baselined configurations
• Overall responsibility to secure that processes for version- and delivery control is followed

Additional tasks
• Propose and initiate actions to improve related processes.
• Provide support to development teams regarding build scripts, baseline tools, version control system (svn), build server and source control tools (e.g. Fortify, Findbugs, Emma)
• Cooperate with build server and version control administrators to ensure availability and performance of version control system and continuous build infrastructure

Knowledge requirements

• At least 5 years' of experience from similar work
• Experience from working with VCS, continuous integration tools and source metric tools.
• Maven, ant or similar
• Programming skills and bash scripting
• Broad technical knowledge and understanding of components in large scale IT operations.
• Excellent skills in written as well as spoken English

Educational requirements

• Master of Science or Bachelor degree in relevant area (e.g. Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
