Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening in our Solutions Lab at the R&D department as a Concept Engineer.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
The New Video Product department with in our R&D organization is responsible for executing the product roadmap ahead, from platforms to mass production. The Solutions Lab is a new part of the organization with its main focus on creating reference designs for typical installations based on Axis and 3rd party products. In this lab we validate concepts and test and evaluate externally developed products, but we also develop smart solutions to simplify installations and get systems of different products to work together.
As Concept Engineer you will set up system testing to evaluate other supplier's products together with ours, identify what needs to be done in order to get it to work and write a technical report describing your findings.
Your main tasks will be to:
• Analyze given use cases and design desired solutions together with the orderer
• Decide how to set up the system, and agree on a test specification
• Order products and tools needed for the testing
• Write test scripts
• Perform functional tests
• Identify and solve problems together with suppliers and/or Axis experts.
• Develop applications
• Write technical test reports and present your findings to the orderer
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Axis is looking for a creative, open-minded and result-oriented person that can work both independently and in a team. We believe that you have a genuine technical interest and that you are very much "hands on". You have a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar and you have experience from C-programming in a Linux environment.
This position includes a variety of challenges. You need a solid technical base but you also need a goal-oriented mindset and a strong drive to make things happen. You need good communication skills to get other to do what's needed and as you will have contact with many suppliers such experiences are meriting.
Except from above, experience from some of the following areas is desirable:
• Basic project management
• System design
• Computer knowledge - configuration of Windows and Linux computers
• Knowledge of IP networks
• Programming knowledge (HTML, C# or similar, Linux scripting)
• Debugging tools
• Basic knowledge of Electronics and computer hardware design
• Communication skills for handling of suppliers
• Documentation skills
• Language skills: English
