We are looking for a Computational Design Developer OR a Computational Design Managing Developer for our central development network Dsearch
Dsearch, the development network for computational design within White arkitekter AB, is growing, and seeks at least one new team member. Founded in 2010, the Dsearch team has been involved in more than 70 architectural projects and another 20 R&D projects. With a network of 15 members, Dsearch operates across all White offices, and conducts research & development as part of the White Research Lab. While mainly developing computational design methods for projects at White, Dsearch will now open up to external collaboration.

We work in a multi-disciplinary mode of design, with competences within architecture, urban design, landscape and interior design, refurbishment, environmental specialisms and project management. Dsearch develops computational design methods in close relation to architectural projects of all scales, ranging from products to interiors, buildings and urban design. A well-developed strategic framework allows a strong focus on innovation and project implementation in parallel. The central Dsearch team is linked to our different offices through a network of architects and structural engineers with special computational design expertise. All team members are engaged in international communities for computational design, and several have parallel academic engagement as researchers and lecturers. In these capacities our team have been part of the development of computational design as a subject matter at several schools of architecture in Sweden and abroad. The Dsearch Network is a part of White Research Lab, the internal organization for practice-based research within White arkitekter.

With many new projects we look to expand our international core team with at least one new member, in the role of Developer or Managing Developer . Both roles entail contributing to and taking lead in computational design development in architectural projects of all scales, from early concept stage to final production. You will also take part in our back-end method and workflow development and will have the opportunity to collaborate in academy-industry research initiatives. In the Managing Developer role, greater emphasis is placed on project management and leadership of computational design developments in architectural projects. The open position is for our central team, with a base in our Stockholm office, with opportunities to also be active in other White locations. Our main visual scripting platform is Rhino and Grasshopper, with parallel development in Revit and Dynamo. Our main text-based scripting environment is Python. We are primarily looking for a full-time member of our team but may also be open to part time employment, combined with academic activities.
General Requirements:
A qualified architect or structural engineer with design experience
Advanced and documented development skills in visual scripting (Rhino and Grasshopper)
Advanced and documented skills in design and communication
English fluency in speaking and writing
Documented skills in text-based scripting and programming (Python and/or C#) is an asset
Well established network within computational design communities is an asset
Documented skills in digital fabrication and making is an asset
Experience from architectural or engineering practice is an asset
Documented skills in Revit and Dynamo is an asset
PhD qualification, research and teaching experience are assets
Swedish fluency in speaking and writing is an asset
Managing Developer additional Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience of computational development in architectural or engineering practice
Documented experience of design and/or project lead is an asset
