Climate system department is responsible for all climate development within Volvo Car Corporation, e.g. heating, ventilation, AC systems and Controls. Climate system department is part of Vehicle Hardware unit within Volvo Car's Research and Development (today called Product & Quality) division. Currently we are more than hundred employees divided into 5 groups. This position is within the HVAC, Air Quality & Air Distribution group.
The HVAC, Air Quality & Air Distribution group has today 20 men and women divided into three teams. We are a diverse team with different ages, backgrounds and experiences with open discussions and good fellowship within the group. As Component technical leader Air Distribution you work within Air Distribution system team.
As Component technical leader Air Distribution you are responsible for the technical deliveries regarding Air Distribution parts. The parts are Air Outlets, Air Ducts and Air Extractors. You will be the technical competence for these parts, and support in activities that needs a deeper technical knowledge. You will support the team to secure quality documentation (technical regulations, drawings, design guidelines ect.) and parts according the same, towards all phases (concept, industrialization and maintenance). You will be an important source of knowledge in the cross functional teams containing of Program manager, Supplier, Design Engineers, Purchasing, SQM, Manufacturing engineer, Geometry assurance, testing ect., that reports the progress to the project and line management (time, technique and cost). One of the most important responsibilities is to develop and maintain the design guidelines for the Air Distribution parts and make sure that all released parts follow the guideline. The work demands a personality that drives all tasks effectively and finds ways to implement the best possible solution with no deviations regarding quality assurance.
Required qualifications
Bachelor level degree in mechanical engineering
Automotive knowledge and experience
Project management knowledge and leadership skills
Climate development experience
Plastic design development and plastic production process experience (mainly injection moulding and blow moulding)
Fit and finish, as well as geometry assurance experience
Minimum 3 years working experience within relevant area
Supplier to OEM and/or OEM to supplier cooperation experience
Ability to work independently and in a group
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Driver's license "B, valid in Sweden
Meritorious qualifications
Experience in testing and analysis
Understanding of Volvo Cars processes
Knowledge of Thermodynamics
