Job description
This is a permanent position at Volvo Car Corporation, with location in Gothenburg.
Infotainment and Telematics is looking for a person who will work as a Project Manager (KU) for the system area Audio. The Audio system team consists of thirteen employees who jointly develop and provide function and system solutions in the area of Audio.
The role involves a wide range of tasks such as lead KU team, vendor contact, planning and monitoring. A KU leader is responsible for one or more components of all car projects. The KU team also includes component design engineer HW / SW and system designer and tester in close contact with suppliers to ensure that the work is performed as required for the product to meet the requirements specified.
The department is responsible for the specification, development and verification of systems and components. You will work with the latest technology in the infotainment system in which very exciting things are happening in order to reach the future characteristics and requirements.
Group Audio system is responsible for components of amplifier and speakers.
Your responsibilities will be everything from requests for quotation for new components to the responsibility for Time, Technology and Cost. You will be working in a cross-functional team with many international contacts.
You have an important role in ensuring commonality between projects. The work is carried out in close cooperation with the supplier and other international contacts and travel is a part of the assignment so it is a requirement that you are fluent in English.
You are responsible for Audio system of any car project and the work is done in close cooperation with suppliers, hardware or software designer.
Who are you?
Qualifications
• University degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equal competence level achieved by long term experience.
• Great experience of project management within electronics engineering
• Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
Preferred qualifications
• Knowledge of audio (amplifier and speakers) and a genuine interest in sound. Knowledge of acoustics / human perception of sound are a plus.
• Project management and team leadership training
