Volvo Construction Equipment AB Component Division has the responsibility for development and manufacturing of driveline components to Volvo’s construction equipment. Development of electronic systems is also a part of the responsibility. Component Division has app. 1 200 employees. The business is located to Eskilstuna, but manufacturing is also performed in co-operation with other companies in different places.
Component leader, Electronic System
The SW Application Development department develops machine functionality for a large variety of products within Volvo CE, e.g. Haulers, Loaders, Graders and Excavators. It is one of seven departments that together deliver complete electronic systems to the machines. Although the competences are divided in different departments almost all work is carried out in cross-functional project teams.
The greatest challenge ahead is to integrate new products within Volvo CE in an efficient way and adapt them to the existing system platforms.
Job description:
As a Component Leader for the complete electronic system in one of our products you have the responsibility for existing products and future system under development. The position requires you to have an insight in architectural issues on a high level, as well as specific details of machine functionality. Therefore you must have the ability to oversee the complete electronic system and understand how it interacts with surrounding sub systems.
You will contribute in choosing solutions; participate in reviews and in development of applications, from specification throughout the whole life cycle of the machine. The product is developed together with out customers with the aid of model based design. The SW applications are written in C.
Qualifications:
Master or Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or similar
Experience of developing SW for embedded systems
Experience of requirement management and documentation of SW
Experience of reuse of SW components
Experience of component based development
Experience of safety critical systems
Experience of model based design
Knowledge of electronic systems in VCE products is a qualifier
Since we are cooperating with companies globally you must be comfortable in English both written and oral.
