As a component engineer of standard components, you will be involved in the work with all of the sections components. You run technical issues, perform continuous monitoring and have a close and good communication with our manufacturers. You will be part of a team within Supply Management meaning close work with design, sourcing and production.
The role is varied and includes work in development projects, where you have a close cooperation with designers within the entire Saab. You support by selecting the right components to optimize Saab's products.
Since we are a Center of Excellence for Saab AB and our manufacturers are located worldwide travels will be expected to some extent.
Your profile
We assume that you have a university degree or equivalent and that you have several years of experience in electronic or harnesses hardware design. We are looking for a person with experience from working with components as an component engineer or equivalent.
The person we are looking for has an open mind, is well organized and have a structured way of working. You should also be flexible and solutions oriented.
We are organized in different teams which makes it very important to be comfortable in cooperation with different types of interfaces such as souring, design, project managers, manufacturers a.s.o.
You are familiar with databases and have experience from managing big amounts of data. It is also very beneficial to have experience and skills working with SQL-programming and advanced excel. You are fluent in Swedish and English.
What you will be a part of
Surveillance provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions.
Sourcing & Production is a division with approximately 450 employees where all of Surveillances sourcing and production activities are gathered in one organisational unit. Production Gothenburg mainly manufacture products and systems for business units Airborne radar, Ground-based and naval radar within Surveillance.
Component Technology is one competence area within our Supply Management. The section has technical responsibility for purchased standard Components. We maintain a total of approximately 250,000 components from about 10,000 different manufacturers. We are also a Saab Competence Centre for standard components, which means that we provide other Saab companies with component components. We are now looking for a new employee to meet the increased demand for our services as a competence centre.
This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.
