Your future challenge
In cooperation with R&D and the sourcing and supply organizations you will be responsible for finding the optimal manufacturers that can provide us with good, reliable and cost effective components. You will have the technical responsibility for your components and monitor changes within your area of components.
You will be the link between Saab and the manufacturers regarding technical issues and have a close cooperation with sourcing.
We are primarily looking for a component engineer within the field of electronic components, digital microcircuits (for example FPGA, micro processors, ASICS).
The role of component engineer is diverse and contains working closely with designers within the entire Saabgroup supporting in the choice of components in order to optimize Saabs products both in development projects as well as customer projects.
Your will also need to organize and manage your component area by continuously reviewing component data.
Most of our component engineers also have the role of project component engineer in one of our projects which is a coordinating role for component issues within the project.
Since we will be a competence centre within Saab and we work with manufacturers in other places some travelling may occur, however, not very often.
You will mainly be reporting to the manager of â€Component Technologyâ€.
Todays demands
We assume that you have a university degree or similar education. Previous experience with hardware design is considered advantages.
You are familiar with managing data in data bases. You are fluent in Swedish and have a good knowledge of technical English. We would like you to be goal oriented, independent, sustainable, creative and easy to cooperate with.

Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world’s premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
â€Component Technology†is responsible for component technology within Saab AB, Electronic Defence Systems (EDS). We provide support from a technical and commercial point of view in selecting the components used in Saabs products.
We are responsible for 250 000 components manufactured by 10 000 different manufacturers. A new Saab Competence Centre is about to start with the overall responsibility for purchased components within Saab. We are therefore looking for new full time employees to join our team.
