The section Switches and Comfort Electronics within the Vehicle SW & Electronics develops customer functionality. The section has responsibilities that stretches from early phases until launch of new cars and handles project management, analysis, verification, hardware and software. The technical responsibility covers many of the switches and comfort systems in the vehicle. The section consists of approximately 65 persons, distributed in five groups.
The group Steering Wheel & Seat Electronics is responsible for hardware and software development as well as the mechanical design for switches and buttons as well as ECUs. Within the group, we also have the responsibility of two systems; Seat Control and User Input.
As a Component Designer SW you will work with existing and new functionality in current and upcoming car projects. The work is done in teams that consist of system designers, software designers, hardware designers and a task leader. You are in close cooperation with the verification group and several other functions within Volvo Car Group. This work includes many international contacts and is done in cooperation with international suppliers.
Main responsibilities
* Be the link between the system owners at Volvo Car Group and the component supplier's SW developers
* Review the design and documents made by the supplier
* Break down and clarify the requirements
* Develop the diagnostic strategy and review its implementation
* Responsible for making sure that the SW is correctly verified internally and by the supplier before delivery to different car programs
Required qualifications
* B.Sc. grade within Electrical, Computer, Engineering Physics or equivalent level of education
* Experience of developing software and specifications
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* B driving license
Meritorious
* M.Sc. in Electrical, Computer or Engineering Physics
* Experience of testing SW
* Experience from the automotive industry
* Knowledge in AUTOSAR
* Other language skills
