Component Designer Hardware, Engine Control System

As Component Designer Hardware within the group Control Modules in Powertrain you are responsible for securing the HW content for our engine programs with regards to the embedded system control systems (ECM). You will be responsible for a broad span of job assignments and develop a comprehensive view of the technology and different car projects.

You establish and develop relationships with representatives from many areas of the vehicle meaning you will therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Volvo Cars. As part of our team, you get access to long term development opportunities in a continuously growing field!

Main responsibilities

• Specify the electrical interface (I/O) for the sensors and actuators of the engine
• Specify the control module component targets including electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements
• Participate in the quotation process of new projects as a technical expert
• Review the electrical design of the system supplier
• Decide verification methods in cooperation with the supplier and approve verification results
• Participate in advanced engineering projects with HW and SW support

Required qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 3 years of industrial experience in designing and developing PCBs
• Fluent in speaking and writing Swedish and English

Personal qualities

• Great engineering- and analytical skills
• Strong at communication and a good team player
• Good administrative and project management skills
• Driven and self-motivated
