Component Design Engineer - Body Electronics

The Security and Body Electronics is responsible for design, implementation and verification of system and components within Alarm, Remote, Immobilizer, Exterior Light, Visibility, Sound Signalling and Locking systems. The section is part of the unit Electrics/Electronics & E-Propulsion and consists of around 60 people working in four different groups. The Body Electronic group is responsible for creating the system solutions for Exterior Light, Sound Signalling and Visibility. The group is also responsible for the development of the Central Electronic Module (CEM), the Headlamp Control Module (HCM) and the Rain and Light Sensor (RLSM). The CEM is a vital part of the electrical system of the car with a high level of integration and using in-house software development process. The HCM is part of the next generation front lighting system supporting new customer features.. The HCM is part of the next generation front lighting system supporting LED lights, Pixel lights and Laser lights.

We are looking for a Component Design Engineer to strengthen our team. You will work with existing modules, but also with assignments in upcoming car platforms.. You will work with existing CEM and HCM modules, but also with assignments in upcoming car platforms. You will lead the planning and implementation of hardware and software changes in different projects. The work is done in close cooperation with system designers, test engineers, hardware and software responsible engineers.

Main responsibilities

• Plan and drive for decisions regarding changes in hardware and software
• Report and establish technical solution in line and project organisation
• Secure the final product through quality assuring actions such as FMEA, Design Reviews and test planning
• Secure that design prerequisites are ready in time, updated and released
• Follow up budget for the assignment
• Lead competitor benchmark activities as well as strategic work for the component area
• Lead technical team meetings with supplier and the internal team
• Support investigations and Advanced Engineering activities related to the component area

Required qualifications

• B.Sc. grade within electronics, data, mechatronics, or a similar level of education

• Knowledge of ISO26262 and Autosar
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Experience from software or hardware design for automotive is an asset
• Experience from working as project leader or team leader (preferably within automotive) is meritorious
• Experience from Body & Security area is meritorious
