Vattenfall
Asset Optimisation and Trading (AOT) is the Business Division where all asset optimisation and trading activities are centralised for the Vattenfall Group. BD AOT consists of four Business Units; Trading, Operations and Asset Optimisation Nordic and Asset Optimisation Continental.
We are located in multiple sites across Europe with around 600 professionals working from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark and Poland. We trade the full range of energy commodities such as electricity, gas, oil, coal, freight, renewable energies and emissions and take responsibility for a diversified sourcing of power, fuels and carbon credits. We optimise and hedge Vattenfall's generation assets in order to manage risk efficiently and optimise the portfolio value. These activities are the basis for maximising profitability and ensuring continuous business growth for Vattenfall and its customers.
SF Operational Performance and Business Compliance (OPC) in AOT is a newly established staff function, responsible for business compliance & operational risk management as well as operational excellence & strategy. Business compliance & operational risk management constitute AOT's 2nd line of defense in these disciplines. Despite not being a licensed entity under supervision of financial supervisory authorities, OPC strives to follow the guidelines applicable to the Compliance Function of licensed entities. OPC also works jointly with the business to secure that AOT's processes, organization, and business model maintain high quality from a risk, cost, and compliance perspective.
Vattenfall AB has located all its Swedish financial license activities in a licensed subsidiary, Vattenfall Power Management AB. ("VPM"). VPM with 7 professionals is a part of BD Distribution & Sales. VPM is effective in financial portfolio management for commodity instruments and is supervised by the Swedish financial supervisory authority. VPM services include discretionary portfolio management, trading on customers commission, advisory services and risk management services. As a MiFID licensed investment company, VPM is obliged to meet the requirements in MiFID, ESMA Guidelines, national legislation and other applicable rules from for example Finansinspektionen.
