Our language of learning is English but our outlook is global.Advancement at SISAdvancement is a strategic, integrated method of managing relationships to increase understanding and support among an educational institution's key constituents, including alumni and friends, government policymakers, the media, members of the community and philanthropic entities of all types.The Advancement function at SIS was set up in October 2018. The team currently consists of the Advancement Director, two Admissions staff and a communications officer. SIS is now further developing its advancement efforts by creating a community engagement officer position. The team is small but dedicated and we work collaboratively, sharing ideas and best practice with the aim to create an advancement programme of internationally high standard. Position summary:The community engagement officer plays a key role in developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement programme to support the advancement of SIS. As the position is new you will have the opportunity to shape and plan an annual cycle of engagement activities, where the focus will be on SIS alumni, our parents and the PTA, fundraising and events.Key duties and responsibilities:Work with the Advancement Director to develop and deliver an annual community engagement plan to support the overall SIS strategic plan.Liaise with the PTA to create and support activities that build community spirit.Effectively expand and use social media to connect with SIS alumni and other stakeholders..Work with the Communications Officer to ensure that key messages are communicated across channels to encourage engagement. Set up and develop an alumni relations programme at SIS.Plan and deliver key alumni meetings and events.Manage alumni and other contact records in the school's CRM system (Raiser's Edge NXT).Help shape key school events that involve external parties, such as the school's Career Day and other lectures and seminars with external involvement. Manage key cultivation events for external audiences (eg the Nobel event).Record events and activities in Raiser's Edge.Work with the Advancement Director to launch and manage a new annual fund initiative at SIS.Record and steward financial gifts and volunteer support. Keep up to date with professional best practice and promote best practice throughout the team and the school.In addition to the above areas of responsibility the position may require other reasonable duties relating to the scope of the position. The post holder will at times be required to work outside of normal office hours and/or weekends and to travel.Additional duties as well as working outside of office hours should be authorised by the Advancement Director.Qualifications, attributes and experienceEducated to degree levelProven track-record of successfully working with client/volunteer/donor managementVery high level of written and spoken English is required, additional languages a plusPresentation skills - ability to engage and influenceWillingness and ability to work on a number of simultaneous projects International background or experience desirableExcellent communication skills.The ability to establish rapport with adults and students. The ability to work effectively in a team A pleasant and friendly personality. The ability to function effectively under pressure. The ability to show initiative and work independently. Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. Included in the recruitment process will be a local and national police check as well as a mandatory police background check from the last year of employment in every country worked.
