Besides research funding, the agency advises the government on research-related issues and participates actively in the discussions to create understanding the long-term benefits of research.
Work tasks
We are lokking for a Communications Officer for Joint Programming - Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR). The Communications Officer for JPIAMR will further develop, coordinate and implement communications of activities for JPI. The work will build on the activities outlined in the Description of Work but focus is on being innovative communication forward to achieve the ambitious goals of the JP. Therefore, the Communications Officer must have proven experience in developing science communication activities with policy makers and working towards targeted stakeholder engagement Europe-wide and beyond.
Key responsiblities
• Planning, developing and implemention of JPIAMR communications activities and materials (eg. strategy development and planning, website , press and media work, articles, podcasts, social media)
• Engage with the project governance structure to keep them informed and aligned with core messages
• Ensure increased awareness and engagement with the JPIAMR from target audiences
• Monitor and ensure JPIAMR engagement in suitable conferences and debates
• Write engaging stories and articles
• Create and develop an AMR communications network among stakeholder organizations
Qualifications
The Communications Officer should have/be:
• A degree (in an appropriate science subject would be an advantage) with additional science communications education
• A minimum of 5 years' experience communication. Specific experience in managing science communication projects on a European scale would be an advantage
• Fluency in English, spoken as well as written
• Ability to translate scientific and corporate information into easy to understand communications material
• Good networking skills and diplomatic manners
• Creative, highly motivated self-strater and problem solver
• Flexibility and work independently
• Willingness to travel
• Good connections with Brussels and knowledge of the European reserach and funding landscape is a must
The Employment
The employment is a temporary half time employment in Brussels for a period of nine month starting as soon as possible and to end of February 2016.
